Preface

Right from the beginning consciousness was realized as the Highest, ‘The Supreme’. At first it was experienced – as every child shows – as being, as feeling of life, as the pure delight of being able to be aware. This feeling of life, the state of Being became conscious of itself in a limitless and illimitable way through its joy of life, through its happiness of being alive. It was a borderless flowering of allembracing bliss, the laughter of the infinity of space, the universe as spontaneous and effortless selfexpression.
When human thinking emerged as a subordinate function of consciousness the fiction of limits and contradictions came into being along with it, as the limiting and dividing constitutes the nature of thought. With the maturation of human thinking man lost the direct oneness with the allembracing consciousness and consequently access to the original paradise. But the memory of the origin, of the allpowerful spring of youth, lingers still and together with it the aspiration and the wish to find it again.
The Indogermans named this original, eternal and allcreative consciousness Ê. It is the root for the Greek AION, meaning age, eternity, for the Latin AEVUM and for the North European AEVI, meaning time of life as well as the ancient German ÊWA which is the root for words like Ewigkeit (Eternity), Ehe (Marriage) and Echt (Real).
In prechristian time the Highest Consciousness was not perceived as a person or superpersonality but as THEÓS or DEUSA, as the appearing, the illumination or as neutrum pluralis: The God.
Later the Greek philosopher Anaximander created the term TO THEION, THE DIVINE, to outline the indescribable.
In this sense Sri Aurobindo and Mira Alfassa use the term THE DIVINE in their writings to describe the Highest Consciousness: The Supreme.
This edition of FOR THE FUTURE presents a collection of messages by Sri Aurobindo and Mira Alfassa which are helping us to find again the way into the direct experience of the Great Consciousness. Through the words we can look behind their thought form and reach their consciousness origin. In this way a new, divine consciousness grows in us, leading us into ever widening vastness of experience of love and light, enabling us finally to embody in life and in the world the Highest Consciousness.

Von Anfang an wurde Bewusstsein als das Höchste, als ‘The Supreme’ erkannt. Es wurde zuerst – so wie es jedes Kind zeigt – als das Sein erlebt, als Lebensgefühl, als die reine Lust zu spüren lebendig zu sein. Dies Lebensgefühl, dies Sein wurde durch seine Lebenslust, seine Daseinsfreude, sich selbst bewusst, wurde bewusstes Sein, uneingeschränkt, grenzenlos, ein ungebremster Aufbruch in allumfassende Wonnefreude, das Lachen allesbewegender Kraft –die Kraft des Jungsein –, die Kraft aus der das unendliche Weltenall, das Universum als selbstverständlicher und müheloser Ausdruck hervorging.
Als sich das Denkvermögen des Menschen bildete, das eine untergeordnete Wirkensweise des Bewusstseins ist, entstand mit ihm die Vorstellung von Grenzen und Gegensätzen, denn das Begrenzende und Aufteilende ist die Natur des Denkens. Mit dem Erwachsenwerden des denkenden Menschen verlor er das unmittelbare Einssein mit dem allumfassenden Bewusstsein, er verlor das ursprüngliche Paradies. Aber die Erinnerung an den Ursprung, an den allesbewegenden Jungbrunnen der Schöpfung, blieb und mit ihr die Sehnsucht und das Verlangen ihn wieder zu finden.
Die Indogermanen nannten dies ursprüngliche, ewig geltende und alles stets neu bildende Bewusstsein Ê. Daraus entstand das griechische AION, das Zeitalter, die Ewigkeit, sowie das lateinische AEVUM, das altnordische AEVI, was Lebenszeit bedeutet und das altnorddeutsche ÊWA aus dem Worte wie Ewigkeit, Ehe und Echt hervorgingen.
In der vorchristlichen Zeit wurde das höchste Bewusstsein nicht als Person oder Überfigur aufgefasst sondern als THEÓS oder DEUSA, als das Erscheinen, das Aufleuchten oder als Neutrum Pluralis: das Gott.
Schließlich wurde von dem griechischen Philosophen Anaximander der Begriff TO THEION, DAS GÖTTLICHE, geprägt, um auf das Unbeschreibbare hinzuweisen.
In diesem Sinn verwenden Sri Aurobindo und Mira Alfassa in ihren Werken den Begriff DAS GÖTTLICHE um auf das höchste Bewusstsein hinzuweisen: The Supreme.
Diese Ausgabe von Für Die Zukunft präsentiert eine Zusammenstellung von Botschaften von Sri Aurobindo und Mira Alfassa die uns helfen den Weg in das unmittelbare Erleben des Grossen Bewusstseins wieder zu finden. Durch die Worte können wir hinter deren gedankliche Form blicken und zu ihrem Bewusstseinsursprung gelangen.
Auf diese Weise wächst in uns ein neues, göttliches Bewusstsein das und in immer größere Weiten der Erfahrung, der Liebe und des Lichtes führt, und uns schließlich befähigt im Leben und in der Welt das höchste Bewusstsein zu verkörpern.

Fin dagli inizi la coscienza è stata riconosciuta come il più grande, ‘The Supremo’. Prima è stato vissuto – come mostra ogni bambino – come l’Essere, come sentimento di vita, come una pura voglia di sentirsi in vita. Questo sentimento di vita, questo stato di Essere è divenuto, attraverso la sua gioia di vita, attraverso la felicità di essere vivo, conscio di sé stesso in modo illimitato e non limitabile, una partenza in frenabile in una beatitudine onnipresente, la risata della forza che muove tutto – la forza dell’essere giovani – la forza derivante dall’infinità dello spazio, l’universo come autoespressione spontanea e senza sforzo.
Quando si creò la facoltà intellettiva dell’Uomo, che è un modo di agire subordinato della coscienza, si sviluppò, insieme ad essa, l’immagine di limiti e contraddizioni, poiché il limitare ed il dividere sono nella natura del pensare. Con la maturazione dell’uomo pensante, questi perse la diretta unità con la coscienza onnipresente, perse l’originario paradiso. Ma il ricordo all’origine, all’onnipotente fonte di giovinezza, rimase e con esso la nostalgia e l’aspirazione di ritrovarla.
Gli Indogermani chiamarono questa originaria, eterna e onnicreativa coscienza Ê. Da questo si sviluppò AION greco, l’éra, l’eternità, così come AEVUM latino, AEVI nord europeo antico che significa tempo di vita e l’ÊWA del tedesco nordico antico da cui si svilupparono le parole come Ewigkeit (eternità), Ehe (matrimonio) ed Echt (vero).
Nel periodo precristiano la massima coscienza non era concepita come persona o personalità superiore ma come THEOS o DEUSA, come l’apparire, l’illuminazione o come neutrum pluralis: Dio.
Successivamente è stato creato il termine TO THEION, IL DIVINO, dal filosofo greco Anaximandro, per indicare l’inscrivibile.
Sri Aurobindo e Mira Alfassa usano il termine IL DIVINO in tale senso, per indicare la massima coscienza, il supremo.
Questa edizione di Per il Futuro presenta una collezione di messaggi di Sri Aurobindo e Mira Alfassa che ci aiutano a ritrovare la via nella diretta esperienza della grande coscienza. Attraverso le parole possiamo guardare dietro la loro forma di pensiero ed arrivare alla loro origine di coscienza.
In questo modo cresce in noi una nuova, divina coscienza che ci porta in una più grande ampiezza di esperienze di amore e di luce, rendendoci capaci, finalmente, a incorporare nella vita e sul mondo la massima coscienza.
